Sinopsis

Diarios Negros es un largometraje animado basado en la vida y los viajes de Roger Casement, el diplomático británico nacido en Irlanda que denunció los abusos contra los derechos humanos en el Congo y el Amazonas a principios del siglo XX y que más tarde dio su vida por la causa antiimperialista y pagó por ello. Combinando animación con imágenes de archivo, la película deconstruye la mirada colonial, retrocediendo en el tiempo para reflexionar sobre las luchas del presente.

Synopsis

Black Diaries is a feature-length animated film based on the life and journeys of Roger Casement, the Irish-born British diplomat who exposed human rights abuses in the Congo and the Amazon at the beginning of the 20th century and later gave his life to the anti-imperialist cause and paid the cost for it.

Blending animation with archival footage, the film deconstructs the colonial gaze, going back in time to reflect upon the struggles of the present.
